rtnering with Dr. James Worling to offer an online webinar in the Protecti
ve + Risk Observations For Eliminating Sexual Offense Recidivism (PROFESOR
 ).\n\nDate/Time: Thursday\, March 25th\, 2021\, 9:00am-5:00pm ET\n\nFormat
 : Online (Zoom) Webinar\n\nCost: $100 per person\n\nAttendance is limited

orkshop will begin with an overview of the scientific and practical limita
tions of current risk prediction tools and approaches\, and we will discus
s some of the exciting\, recent research regarding protective factors—i.
e.\, factors that protect against sexual reoffending.  Following an outli
ne of the rationale for the development of a new tool and approach\, the c
entral focus of this workshop will be to introduce participants to the app
lication of the PROFESOR (Protective + Risk Observations For Eliminating S
exual Offense Recidivism) through the use of numerous examples. The PROFES
OR is a new\, experimental checklist designed to identify and summarize pr
otective and risk factors for adolescents and emerging adults who have off
ended sexually (i.e.\, those aged 12 to 25).  Whereas most risk assessmen
t tools that are currently in use in the field were intended to predict th
e future\, the PROFESOR is designed to assist with planning interventions
that can help individuals to enhance their capacity for sexual and relatio
nship health and\, thus\, eliminate sexual recidivism. We will conclude th
e workshop with a brief overview of some tips and techniques for helping c
lients to talk about difficult issues.\n\nFor more information on the PROF
 ESOR\, visit www.profesor.ca. \n\nLearning objectives:\n\nAt the conclus
ion of this full-day workshop\, participants will:\n\n Be aware of the sc
ientific and practical limitations regarding our ability to accurately pre
dict future sexual recidivism\n Learn about recent research where protect
ive factors (i.e.\, factors that protect against sexual recidivism) for se
xual recidivism have been identified for adults and adolescents\n Underst
and the rationale for the development of a new measure to assess risk and
protective factors\n Have the opportunity to learn and practice the codin
g rules for the PROFESOR\n Learn some concrete tips for helping clients t
o talk about issues that they may be reluctant to discuss.\n\nSpeaker Bio\
n\nDr. Worling is a clinical and forensic psychologist in full-time privat
e practice who has worked extensively with adolescents who have sexually o
