Worling to offer an online webinar in the Protective + Risk Observatio ns For Eliminating Sexual Offense Recidivism (PROFESOR).\n\nDate/Time: Wed nesday\, January 27th\, 2021\, 9:00am-5:00pm ET\n\nFormat: Online (Zoom) W ebinar\n\nCost: $100 per person\n\nAttendance is limited to 60 participant s\n\n \;\n\nPROFESOR\n\nThis workshop will begin with an overview of t he scientific and practical limitations of current risk prediction tools a nd approaches\, and we will discuss some of the exciting\, recent research regarding protective factors—i.e.\, factors that protect against sexual reoffending.  Following an outline of the rationale for the development of a new tool and approach\, the central focus of this workshop will be to introduce participants to the application of the PROFESOR (Protective + R isk Observations For Eliminating Sexual Offense Recidivism) through the us e of numerous examples. The PROFESOR is a new\, experimental checklist des igned to identify and summarize protective and risk factors for adolescent s and emerging adults who have offended sexually (i.e.\, those aged 12 to 25).  Whereas most risk assessment tools that are currently in use in the field were intended to predict the future\, the PROFESOR is designed to a ssist with planning interventions that can help individuals to enhance the ir capacity for sexual and relationship health and\, thus\, eliminate sexu al recidivism.
