The Child Pornography Offender Risk Tool (CPORT) is a seven-item structured checklist to assess the likelihood of future sexual recidivism among adult male offenders with a conviction for child pornography offenses.

Learning Objectives:
In this 4-hour workshop, Dr. Seto will provide an overview of relevant research on online sexual offending to provide the context for the development and validation of the Child Pornography Offender Risk Tool (CPORT), which is the only CSEM offender specific risk assessment tool to have shown predictive validity for sexual recidivism. Dr. Seto will describe the application of the CPORT with adult men who have committed an internet offense. He will also describe the companion measure, the Correlates of Sexual Interest in Children Scale (CASIC). Suggested uses of the CPORT and CASIC will be discussed with examples.

Speaker Biography:
Dr. Michael Seto is a registered clinical and forensic psychologist and currently a research director with the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group, as well as Professor in Psychiatry at the University of Ottawa. He also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Sexual Abuse, the ATSA journal. Dr. Seto has published extensively on pedophilia, sexual offending against children and online offending. He regularly presents at scientific meetings and professional workshops on these topics. He has written well-reviewed books on pedophilia and sexual offending against children (2008, second edition in 2018) and on internet sex offenders (2013), all published by the American Psychological Association.
